Effect of Bond-Slip on Dynamic Response of FRP-Confined RC Columns with Non-Linear Damping

As a composite material, the damping energy consumption mechanism of fiber reinforced polymer-confined concrete (FRP-C RC) structure is very complex. In previous dynamic calculation models, bond-slip effect for steel bars was often ignored, which would lead to considerable error in response FRP-C RC structures. this paper, new numerical model columns considering established using zero-length element and nonlinear beam-column elements OpenSees software, results are verified by experimental results. Based on complex theory, loss factor expression with bond slip proposed. Finally, under harmonic load calculated compared available literature. The show that proposed bars’ can provide better prediction make future seismic design safer.
